What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?

The NTA’s philosophy centers on the idea that real health can be achieved through a holistic and individualized approach to nutrition and lifestyle.

A Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner takes a foundational, holistic approach to wellness that focuses on the importance of a properly prepared, nutrient-dense, whole food diet paired with a well-balanced lifestyle. NTPs understand the importance of honoring the body’s own feedback system and its incredible capacity to restore, regenerate, and correct itself — when given the tools and nutrients to do so.

What does the Nutritional Therapy process look like?

As a practitioner, my work with each individual/family is customized. Learn more about the Nutritional Therapy Process here.

How long will it take to feel better?

I know we live in a time where most things are instant. But, this really will depend on a few different factors and will vary from client-to-client. We will take into consideration what your diet looks like currently, how long you’ve been eating this way, any medical diagnoses, medications, surgeries, etc. This will also be heavily influenced by how passionate and dedicated you are to your health and program. While I would love to tell you that you will see a difference in X amount of days, every individual is different, thus the timeline will vary.

How strict are the nutritional and lifestyle changes you will recommend? Am I going to have to give up all my favorite foods?

They’re not strict at all! I actually despise that “s” word as it can be off-putting to many clients. To be transparent and honest, you are going to get out what you put in. The only things I would say you have to avoid or give up at all costs: fear, worry, guilt and shame. Everything else is negotiable! I want you to remember that any improvement in nutrition and lifestyle, no matter how small, is beneficial to you! When we work together to set goals, we will avoid setting the bar out of reach, we will be flexible, and we will also be realistic while having some ambition. As a practitioner, I feel that those are things all clients can comply with.

Do I have to get a package? Is there an option to book session-to-session?

At this time, the only option to book session-to-session is for current clients who have completed a 3 or 6 month program and want additional support. The work I do with you is so in-depth that it is important to have an invested client-practitioner commitment and relationship. Programs are designed for the longevity of your health goals. There is one exception I make, for clients who are referred in from a colleague. Please reach out if this applies to you.
